Sports are hard for writers. That is, essentially, why we are writing and not in Paris, competing in the Olympics. For the Olympic edition, we take a look at what it means to be an Olympian in the broadest sense of the word.
This edition focuses on narratives of resilience — like overcoming the doctors’ odds and shouldering the weight of a family of athletes. From reading through the night, to running a local 5K, to Olympic skateboarding, these stories all encapsulate the Olympic tradition of endurance and dedication. Regardless of our athletic prowess, though, we believe that anyone and everyone is capable of Olympic feats, and this edition is a testament to that. We pass the torch to you, reader.
